An optical eye patch is a piece of fabric or material worn over one eye to block vision in that eye. It’s commonly used in occlusion therapy to treat vision problems such as amblyopia (lazy eye) and strabismus (crossed eyes). By covering the stronger eye, the patch encourages the weaker eye to work harder, helping to improve vision and stimulate the part of the brain responsible for sight.
