Birmingham Optical expands its team with two new recruits
11 March 2019
Birmingham Optical, the biggest company-owned supplier in the optical industry providing equipment, services and expertise with over 60 years of experience, has kickstarted the new year by expanding its team with two new people to develop the sales department and lead the accessories and consumables sales division.
Andrew Webb (pictured above) has joined Birmingham Optical as Sales Manager to run the field sales team. Andrew began his career as a lab technician and qualified as a Dispensing Optician and Contact Lens optician whilst undertaking the role of practice manager at Rawlings Opticians. He then transferred into an account management position with Cooper Vision in 2010 before becoming a Regional Sales Manager, and brings a wealth of experience at leading and developing a team of sales people.
The second new recruit is Stephen O’Dwyer, who brings extensive knowledge to the position of Accessories and Consumables Sales Manager at Birmingham Optical, to transform its offering in the accessories and consumables sales department. Stephen has previously undertaken roles including retail manager, merchandise manager and senior buyer. From 2012, he worked at Specsavers as its group buyer, and therefore already has a close working relationship with the Birmingham Optical team.
Amanda Danson, Chief Commercial Officer and Business Owner at Birmingham Optical, comments: “We’re really pleased to be welcoming Andrew and Stephen to the team. They both have a huge amount of knowledge and expertise that they’ll be bringing with them to strengthen both Birmingham Optical’s offerings and the way we work.
“I’m looking forward to seeing how Andrew transforms the sales team and how Stephen works towards making Birmingham Optical a one-stop shop for its customers.”
