Our simple customer contact commitment is to only ever use your details to help you make the most of the products and services we have to offer.

What sort of data we collect
If you have an online account with us: your name, billing/delivery address, orders and receipts, email and telephone number. For your security, we’ll also keep an encrypted record of your login password.
If you have made an enquiry we may have your name, email address, telephone number and postal address.
How we protect your data
We realise how important it is to securely store any information that you provide and we maintain the highest levels of security. Our site uses high-level SSL encryption technology, the most advanced security software currently available for online transactions.
Who we might share your data with
In order to serve you most efficiently, we may on occasions share your data with a trusted third party such as a mailing house in order to issue communications such as our INSIGHT newsletter or a courier so that we can deliver an order to you.
In each instance the third party is fully GDPR compliant and is not permitted to use your personal data for their own purposes.

As part of the registration process for our emails, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about products and services you’ve asked us to tell you about; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied.
We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our email marketing. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing [email protected].
We use a third-party provider, SurveyMonkey, to deliver our online customer surveys in order to gather feedback.
We use a third-party provider, WooCommerce, to manage all online orders from our online shop at birminghamoptical.co.uk.
We use a third-party provider, Stripe, to manage all payments for our online orders from our online shop at birminghamoptical.co.uk.
Assignment Clause: If at any point the business is sold there will be a clause to protect your data. The sale of the business would include the sale of your data on the terms that it could only be used for the same purpose as it is used now.
Opting Out
You can opt out at any time and request that we delete your data. Simply email [email protected] and request to have your personal data deleted.
Alternatively you can request that we restrict the way we use your data. Simply email [email protected] and advise us of your preference, for example you may want to be kept informed of aftercare related communications for your existing products but not want to be informed of new products.

Phishing
Phishing is the practice of tricking someone into giving confidential information. Examples include falsely claiming to be a legitimate company when sending an e-mail to a user, in an attempt to get the user to send private information that will be used for identity theft and fraud.
We’ll never ask you to send any personal details via email. If we require such details, for security reasons we’ll ask you to contact us by phone.
